The tones of the fabric and the velvety-cloth upholstery combine in elegant fashion with the teak background of solid or battened wood. The exceptional working of the materials is enhanced by the balance of decorative style which graces each cabin as well as the head. Great volume is translated into spacious appointment, the navigation station is designed with a concern for both perfection and aesthetics. The L-shapped galley bears witness to this same desire for a fine balance: double-sink unit, gimballed stove with oven, cupboard unit, lockers... ocean-cruising fittings in short. Below decks on Sun Shine 38, one gets the feeling that the touch of class and the comfort of the saloon are out do each other. The light flooding in through the numerous ports illuminates the oiled-teak woodwork and highlights the superb match of the materials used. The luxury and know-how evident the layout within the spacious interior generates the impression of a truly " vintage " unit. The balance of the contours and the design do not only make for the Sun Shine 38's superb silhouette. The outline also creates a large-battened cockpit in which every crew member has is place. From the stemhead casting with its twin bow-rollers to the aft-pulpit passing through the return lines and triple and quadruple jammers of the six 2-speeds winches, the deck fittings are up to the standard of the Sun Shine 38's seagoing prowess. This deck arrangement, to match the demands of the most finicky regatta-person, is above all through out to make handling easier when short-crewed. By multiplying solutions, this deck plan determines and specifies each function on the running rigging.

Sun Shine 38 is built following Jeanneau's hard-and-fast formula: lay-up by hand, stratification work by hand, bulkheads sealed into the hull and deck. Inner mouldings, uniquely for finishing purposes, form no part of the boat's structure. Sun Shine 38's hull is built using Aramat K, stratified glass/Kevlar composite which affords double resistance to shock of simple glass stratification.
