Jeanneau Yachts 55 Takes Top Honors in Cruising World's 2024 Boat of the Year Awards!
In style, performance, innovation and construction, the Jeanneau Yachts 55 was named Best Overall Boat of the Year and Best Full-Size Cruiser among an international field of 19 entries.
Right from the beginning, before the first boat was even built, we knew the Jeanneau Yachts 55 would be something special. Inspired in part by today’s modern cruising catamarans, the Jeanneau Yachts 55, which was introduced at this year's Annapolis Boat Show, is truly a revolutionary new concept created around the idea of providing the best live-aboard experience for both owners and guests alike.
"It’s a heck of a boat!" says Cruising World's Boat of the Year judge, Mark Pillsbury. "Naval architect Philippe Briand and interior designer Andrew Winch have created a powerful hull form with loads of interior volume, an enormous cockpit that stretches from the stern to nearly the mast, with the option to enclose much of that area with a hard dodger and bimini, the latter with a center panel that opens to let in sun by day and stars by night. And it was a fun boat to sail!”
“We’ve seen Jeanneau take chances before, and they always seem to come up aces,” said judge Herb McCormick. “They were on the leading edge of the deck-salon craze and executed those models extremely well. The side-deck arrangement they introduced a couple of years ago was a game-changer that we’re starting to see adopted by other brands. And here they are again with something very fresh and new. I have the feeling that this yacht, above and beyond our contest, is destined to be a winner.”
