Just last week, the Annapolis Sailboat Show was canceled due to safety issues surrounding COVID-19. The news was not surprising and it was definitely the right call but still, the 51st Annapolis Sailboat Show will be sorely missed. To all our friends at Annapolis Boat Shows, who year after year bring us such a fantastic event, we say thanks and we look forward to being back next year. We will be there with our flags flying high!
Why do we LOVE the Annapolis Boat Show? Over the past 50 years, the Annapolis Sailboat Show has grown to become not only the largest all-sail show in North America but the premier all-sail show as well. Here's why:
1. SAILING CAPITAL OF THE WOLRD
First, when it comes to great locations, Annapolis, billed as the Sailing Capital of the World, is simply second to none, especially in early Fall when the heat is gone but plenty of warm weather remains.
2. CENTRAL LOCATION
Second, being centrally located on the East Coast, Annapolis is easy to get to whether by plane, train, or automobile and there are plenty of good places to stay and restaurants to enjoy.
3. BUILT FROM SCRATCH
Third, the show itself is unique because it's completely built each year from scratch using floating docks that within hours become a 500 slip marina. It's truly amazing watching it all come together. Until you see it you almost can't believe it will happen.
4. A DESTINATION
Fourth, Annapolis is a lot more than just a boat show, it's an event, it's an experience, it's a destination, it's an opportunity to reunite with old friends, colleagues, and customers. You can't possibly come to the Annapolis Boat Show and not enjoy all that Annapolis has to offer. Much like the U.S. Naval Academy, the Annapolis Boat Show is an institution that over the years has been woven into the very fabric that makes Annapolis great.
