After a peaceful
night aboard the two Cap Camarat 8.5s, moored together in the port of Bonifacio, and
a quick breakfast on the terrace, we headed in the direction of Propriano, passing
very close to the point of Madonetta.
On a silvery blue sea and under the rising
sun, our GPS navigation system allowed ustoskirt the beautiful beaches of
southern Corsicaat over 30 knots, under the spectacular rugged mountains of
Cagna, all while respecting the protected waters of Corsica’s nature reserve.In just
52 minutes, we reached the recently remodelled, well-sheltered port of Propriano,
a beautiful sight captured in photos taken from a helicopter.
Next, we made a 14-hour
passage up to the Bay of Sagone,passing through the Sanguinaires Islandsand the Bayof
Ajaccio... landscapes to take your breath away. With calm seas, it was an easy
passage, and we witnessed dolphins playing in the wake of a tourism boat.
Stopping in the Bay of Porto,with its tall, ochre-coloured cliffs, we prepared for
our crossing from Corsica to the Continent, and to our final destination of Cap
Camarat, between Saint-Tropez and Cavalaire.
Cruising comfortably
for 125 nautical miles, at over 30 knots, we arrived after nearly 3 hours and 30
minutes.The rally ended at 8:00 PM, a total of 323 nautical miles from Sardinia.
