THE RAISED KEEL VERSION, UNIQUE ON A 40-FOOTER!
EASY HANDLING IN SHALLOW WATERS
It is with all the experience of the design cabinet of Marc Lombard that we find this incredible innovation. The swing keel system was developed for the Sun Odyssey 410: it is the only 40-foot cruising sailboat equipped with this system, that was until now reserved for race boats!
This great technical innovation enables the boat access to just about anywhere.
Her draught, identical to that of a Class 40, will thrill all those who love performance. Similar to that of a lifting keel, this same draught, at 1.37 metres with the keel lifted, enables the exploration of zones hitherto inaccessible.
Marinas like Chichester are now within a sail’s length, in complete simplicity and with an excellent performance!
For the lifting keel version, the Sun Odyssey 410 cleverly integrates the lifting system without compromising the exceptional ergonomics of the sailboat.

A BOAT DESTINED FOR THE PODIUMS
These inverted curves in the keel line enable a better distribution of dynamic pressure, limiting drag on the hull, but also minimising the surface area below the water line for greater performance.
The carefully studied structure and form of the keel also enable a reduction of hydrodynamic pressure and an optimised centre of gravity.
The result: a light, fast and responsive Sun Fast 3300!
The sail plan was designed to offer a generous sail area with highly efficient aerodynamics and easy handling.
Due to the hull shape, the centre of which is slightly aft, the rigging be positioned further aft, in the interest of coherent design. The main sail is longer and features a square head.
This “rectangular” sail affords greater sail area and finesse. Two backstays contribute tension on the stay for better pointing ability when sailing upwind.
All has been designed for ease of handling, efficiency and cohesive design.
For the deck plan, the Sun Fast 3300 benefits from the expertise ANDRIEU │ VERDIER: all is structured to facilitate easy movement about the boat and to optimise space. The lightened deck plan conserves just the essential points for a perfect race.
