Hart Robinson & Family take on America's Great Loop
onboard the Merry Fisher 895
Some may ask, what is the Great Loop? America's Great Loop is a circumnavigation of the eastern part of the United States and Canada. This includes the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW), the Canals in New York and Canada, the Great Lakes, the inland rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico. The circumnavigation totals around 6,000 miles and is a wonderful way to discover the hidden gems of North America.
For Hart Robinson, the Great Loop has always been on his bucket list. Most "Loopers" begin the adventure during retirement, but for Hart, he wanted his wife, Laura, and four children to be able to go on this voyage together as a family. The plan was to participate in the Great Loop by breaking up each leg to work with their schedule.
In December of 2020, they trailered their new Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 to Florida to knock out that leg of the Loop. The 29-foot cabin cruiser includes two berths down below with a convertible berth in the salon. It was the perfect boat for his family of six to enjoy time together over the holiday season.
