Barquera 2009
A rare experience it was, crossing of the Gulf of Gascony upwind in both directions (France - Spain - France). And yes, the spinnakers remained safely tucked away in the forward hold. In changing winds of 5 to 35 knots, the light and solent genoas suffered from strong swells at sea. This made for some difficult moments at watch day and night... But the crew, who were nonetheless prepared for a rough sail, expressed their satisfaction with the boat for its excellent handling at sea.
This superb victory demonstrates that the Sun Fast 3200 can win in any wind or sea conditions. With a good crew, it’s to be expected!
"International Sailing Week" in La Rochelle
Loic Gelebart and Henri Laurent, with their Sun Fast 3200, “Coeur de chauffe,” barely in the water, won first place in the Transpertuis, the double-handed competition in the “International Sailing Week” in La Rochelle, besting Marc Lombard’s Aquileria 9.50, “ML Design.”
With this win, the Sun Fast 3200 confirms her ease of handling with a reduced crew, and this in the poor weather conditions that persisted over the Ascension weekend.
Barquera 2009
Winners in the Barquera 2009, Hervé Piveteau and his crew of friends from the Jeanneau Design team – Emmanuel Suin, Alain Didout, Olivier Dautresme, Alain Le Govic, Benoit Lutard and Julien Gaveriaux – led by a wide margin before the A 35 in both real and compensated time aboard their Sun Fast 3200, “Magic Sun.”
